I've seen in the logs that PMS is breaking a large film into several parts, and sending each part, at a certain cadence, to the Plex player.
I am experiencing buffering problems on an AppleTV in DirectPlay situations. PlexConnect preprocesses the user request and passes it to PMS. Then PMS streams to the ATV directly without PlexConnect intervention. There is no problem in transcoding situations. I'm wondering if the problem can be caused by breaking a film in an excessive number of parts in DirectPlay situations.
Is there a way to "influence" PMS into breaking a film in larger but fewer parts in DirectPlay situations ? From the logs, it looks like PMS sometimes "forgets" to send all parts to the ATV in DirectPlay situations, leading to a crash of the ATV, requiring its reboot.
