Buffering Issues are Driving Me Crazy

Okay, I’m very new to this. I’ll give you what information I can think of. Please ask for anything else that may be needed.
I’m operating a Windows 10, intel i7-4790K CPU, 32gb ram, on a z97x gaming 7 motherboard, 1 500gb ssd, where OS is located, and (2) 6tb WD Green drives for storage.
Current Uploading speedtest is 5.75mbps, and system is wired ethernet from router to computer and router to television.
Television is Samsung un32j5205af.

Movie runs fine at first, but then, especially during high action scenes, causes buffering. Buffering will repeat every 5 minutes or so, unless action slows down.
I have no idea what to do about this. I’d rather fix weaknesses in system than lower quality if that is a crossroads decision.

Your system appears plenty good enough to stream most media except apparently one!
Do the others work ok?

If I have buffering or streaming or quality issues I start again.
I suggest delete it , then redownload or rip again.
If that fails change your ripping or converting settings.

i’m suspecting it’s on the television end as this happens with most of my movies, but on another tv they work much better and hardly ever buffer.

Hmmm
Is it transcoding your media?
Are you using Subtitles?
What Audio Codec?
Can you attach the XML for that media file?

PMS 1.5.3 got released which contains a bug fix for a streaming issue that manifests itself on high-bandwidth, high-latency connections.

(Normally, your LAN connection should not have a high latency, but maybe it has something to do with the switch in your router. TVs often only have 100mbps ethernet ports and the rest of your devices is likely to have 1gbps ports.
It wouldn’t be the first switch which has issues when the ‘speeds’ don’t match on different ports…)

@OttoKerner
I thought that fix was in 1.5.2
PMS 1.5.3 Release notes do not mention this as included…
Only Update to Plex Web and Fix for large Photo Libraries are listed for 1.5.3.
Maybe Release notes don’t reflect what is in any given release??

He incidentally did not mention what Release his issue is occurring on…

It is. But since 1.5.3 got released, I thought I’ll better steer the user to this.

Is it transcoding your media? transcoding is set to automatic if that’s what you are asking
Are you using Subtitles? No
What Audio Codec? aac
Can you attach the XML for that media file? I don’t know how to do that.

i was still using a 1.4.? version. i’ve now updated and am running same movie over to check.

worked great this time…thanks everyone.
