Buffering issues since one of the last updates - borderline unusable

Server Version#: 1.32.2.7100
Player Version#: whatever the latest tvOS one is

Has anyone noticed anything weird since the latest updates specifically with tvOS and iOS? I have a remotely hosted debian server running… whatever the latest release is and an Apple TV 4K… 1st gen I think. I have an Android TV in the house, also. I’ve noticed when playing content of any bitrate on the Apple TV, it will buffer to the point where it is unusable. If will take about 1 second to get to the deck screen, then buffer for something like 30 seconds, then play for 5, then buffer. I used to be able to get around this by transcoding to 720p medium, but no more.

I’ve tried all the usual things, like transcoding down, changing various ATV settings, reinstalling etc, to no effect. Interestingly, when I run a speedtest from my server to my house, I get the usual 95/35 result - when I ran a speedtest using infuse (as a test) from my plex server on the Apple TV, it was pulling something like 3.5mbps maximum and hovering at 0.7-1.5 which is abysmal. Running an Ookla speedtest on the ATV to a similar overseas location yields 100/40, as expected.

Re the Android TV - it has no issues with direct play, nor does my Desktop using either the client or browser. This HAS to be a tvOS/iOS bug (same symptoms on my iPhone). It’s driving me mental. I’d say this has been the norm since the last few months or so.

I’m at a complete loss.

No ours is hardwired (only by powerline) but we never have buffering. I can stream the 120MB/s jellyfish test file without buffering either.

It is a bug with the 1st gen ATV 4K as I suspected. I bought a $60 fire stick (so android, basically) - zero issues. Get it together, Plex
