Since the release yesterday of the North amercian plex app for ps4, I have tried to watch movies and each time it has to buffer. Even if I pause the movie for a little while and then play it. I’m in love with plex and have no problem with it its just the buffering that kinda sucks. My ps4 is also lan and same thing with my media server. Any laptop android or iOS app has no buffering problem. Just my ps4…

Can it be that most other devices direct play the material but the PS4 is needing transcoding that the CPU of the media server just isn't handling? Have you looked at the CPU usage while the PS4 says buffering?

I'm running off the latest Ubuntu server, the cpu is minimal
We've seen unexpected buffering reports for the PS3/4. I think a lot of the time the video is too high quality for the PS to play and buffer adequately. Other times I think there's a platform bug handling certain video types.
What sort of videos are you playing? What is the quality setting in the PS4 app? Is it all videos consistently, some videos consistently, or some videos some of the time?

All settings are to the highest quality, I have turned off deep color. Mostly happens to 1080p movies. And it runs smoothly but every once and a while the buffering icon pops up. Sometimes it pauses and buffers.
