This is the case since quite a few versions back (if not since the introduction of the feature).
Plex/Web only shows initials in a circle instead of the real actor images (on safari). If this is intended then please change the names to be a list instead so we can save some space on the GUI.
Actor images are working for me. Can you provide a screenshot and the XML for a movie?
If you see the initial letters instead of an empty circle, it has to do with the metadata agent.
Actor pictures will only work when you have selected ‘The Movie Database’ as the Cast List Source in the properties of the Plex Movie agent.
Setting the CastList to “The Movie DB” + refresh MD fixed this. thank you Otto!
I have never touched or seen that config screen and my settings where using IMDB. Maybe TMDB would be a better suited default value…
If tmdb will be/is likely gonna be the only source for actor pictures, It be nice if plex displayed this info… similar to (Plex Pass required) or (restricted audiences)
