[Bug] Artifacting/Banding on High Quality Videos with Direct Play/Stream Enabled

The latest update still doesn’t seem to fix this problem. On high quality/high bitrate movies, I get periodic artifacting/banding with direct play and direct stream enabled. As a result I have to keep direct play and direct stream off all the time to prevent the artifacts from showing up in the video.

@Moussa logs are attached.

@mbarylski Thanks for the logs. This is likely an issue with the platform decoder as we’re direct streaming/playing the video stream. There could be a variety of factors involved in the artificating/banding. Is the file high bitrate by any chance? Could you create a sample file that reproduces the issue so that I can pass it on to Microsoft?

@Moussa Yes, it’s definitely high bitrate videos. In fact, it seems to occur when there’s more action, more detail, or maybe a boost in sound. Almost as if it’s a variable bitrate and when the bitrate peaks is when the artifacting/banding occurs. I was watching Spider Man 3 last night and in 10 minutes it probably happened 4 times. That’s actually better then it used to be. I’ll try a few more videos and when I find a good one I’ll post a sample.

I am just now having this issue with version 1.18.3.2129, was this a bug that got re-introduced in a recent update? I am having this issue direct playing to my AppleTV & direct streaming on Xbox One X. Any help is appreciated!
