Not exactly sure I understand your issue… is this happening if you try playing a video from folder mode or is this a general playback issue for media in a certain folder?
Just tested on my phone w/ Plex for iOS 7.16 and cannot reproduce an issue.
Edit: the error message you included is a known „non issue“ (it’s reported but causes no trouble)
Android and web player works fine.
