So this was weird: I launched the Plex client on my FireTV stick for the first time in a while (just because my Roku is acting up for some unknown reason), and I had to log in. No problem. The email address I have associated with my Amazon account is also associated with my Plex account. Great, I thought, I can use “Sign in with Amazon”. But then I got this utterly nonsensical error message: “This email is already associated with a Plex account. Please use pin to login.”
I wasn’t going through the signup flow; I was going through the login flow, so yeah, I sure hope that my email address is already associated with a Plex account; that’s literally the whole point of using “Sign in with Amazon”, right!?
I was able to log in with my PIN, but I was annoyed to have to do that.
And speaking of which, minor nitpicks on the error message:
- “pin” means
; the message should say “PIN”, which means “personal identification number”. - “login” is a noun; the verb phrase should be “to log in”.
