Closed Captioning Subtitles do not seem to get recorded in the .ts file. Definitely is a plex issue as I tried to record the same program with a different software and that worked fine.
In Australia if that helps.
What have you tested for playing back the files? Can you use ffprobe to provide some information on the recordings?
@DaveBinM I use Plex but to test am using VLC.
I don’t understand how to use ffprobe so used mediainfo instead.
I don’t know how VLC works on that…
I am using 1.7.6, and extracting the CC using ccextractor, then remucingto MKV and it is working fine.
@SHOCKWAVE Can you try playing back using MPV? I’d also suggest using ffprobe, as it does a lot more, and picks up things mediainfo misses.
@jwaltrip4 are you in Australia?
@DaveBinM shouldn’t it still work in Plex? It doesn’t even work there.
Output of ffprobe

@DaveBinM there is also talk about the big in this post.
something about Plex not delivering the actual TS stream properly causing the closed captions to not be captured.
Closed Captions ARE in the .ts files recorded by Plex. I can play them with Kodi just fine.
Why can’t Plex get their clients working???
@repentance well if the devs actually made an appearance on the forums I’m sure we would get an answer.
My LG smart tv only shows closed captions when coming off antenna. Does anyone else’s say this in the manual too? I think the Plex ROKU app would need to actually render the closed captions into the hdmi video feed.
