to whom it concerns:
This is the second time this week that my Plex DVR looses all its recordings.
Checking my DVR setup, I noticed a change of my EPG guid which is called now: " Deutschland (erweitert) (981 channels)" and is a combination of ALL German channels.
The first time, I did re-map my channel lineup, which initializes a EPG update and gets back my grid of future recordings.
But a few days later, I lost my mappings once again. WTF?
I noticed that the EPG channel list is sorted alphanumerical from 0-Z. That is fine.
But if I loose all / most of my channel mappings with every single update in that list, this is plain st*pid.
Can you please fix this and make sure it never happens again. I am not only loosing future recordings, but it also takes up half an hour (at least) to re-map these channels plus another half hour to update the EPG again.
@rossinior I’ve been trying to chase this down with another German user, but their logs only went back 2 days and the event occurred prior to that. Tell me you’ve got the PMS logs
Earlier today, I noticed emtpy recordings list, then updated PMS, then restarted server, then noticed lack of change.
I re-mapped channels and saved server logs.
Can I PM them to you?
I lost most of my channel mappings and I did not even notice that sh*t until I start wondering why almost no new entries were added to my DVR library… and then, why my list of scheduled recordings was almost empty!
Dear Plexies… @sa2000@tom80H@cire12 and others… what is the way around such behaviour?
From one day to the other: 57 channels → 4 or 5 mapped channels. and a large number of scheduled recordings silently disappeared.
No notice in the dashboard about an OBVIOUS mismatch of channel mappings yesterday and today. No pop up note telling me that literally dozens or even hundreds of scheduled recordings that were present in the grid disappeared.
No way of exporting/importing my channel mappings or train Plex to not look at channel numbers only but the channel abbrevations that it had yesterday.
No way of the user disabling that strange channel update method.
Can somebody please try to find a way out of that nerve-wrecking situation?
