[BUG] Extras being added as movies

Having the exact same issue as described here: Why are Extras showing as movies?
I’m following the instructions for organizing extras in sub-directories laid out here: https://support.plex.tv/articles/200220677-local-media-assets-movies/

The workaround of removing the (Year) from the movie directory works, but still seems more like a workaround than a fix.
Is it possible to get this fixed so that it isn’t necessary to remove the movie year from the parent directory?

Did you follow the actual naming conventions or some of the examples from within the referenced thread?
e.g.

... > Movies > Captain Marvel (2019) > Captain Marvel (2019).ext
... > Movies > Captain Marvel (2019) > Behind the Scenes > ...

vs.

... > Movies > Captain Marvel.2019 > Captain Marvel.2019.ext
... > Movies > Captain Marvel.2019 > Behind the Scenes > ...

Could you share a specific example?

My naming scheme is currently like this:

… > Movies > Captain Marvel (2019) > Captain Marvel.ext
… > Movies > Captain Marvel (2019) > Behind the Scenes > …

“Behind the Scenes” is being added as an entirely new movie.

I tried renaming it to exactly how you laid it out

… > Movies > Captain Marvel (2019) > Captain Marvel (2019).ext
… > Movies > Captain Marvel (2019) > Behind the Scenes > …

And the same thing happens.

However, I did notice that any change to the naming scheme AFTER the extras subdirectories are added in will refresh the movie and pull everything back in.

Do you have the setting enabled to automatically add content when it’s added? Iv’e seen this cause issues as the path is sort of ignored so Plex doesn’t know that it’s an extra. I would suggest using the naming method instead if you want to continue using the automatic scanning feature.

Is it possible to make the team aware of this bug?
