Bug? Feature? 2 copies show up in Continue Watching

I know this is something that crops up, but this is a first. And as an aside, do you have any idea how much friction this has created in my marriage? My wife is so frustrated. Alright, here is the issue:? When my wife watches one of her TV Shows, another copy shows up in the Continue Watching bar. The bar that is the ONLY thing she can navigate. And now there are two copies. One is my copy which is my own personal ripped version. The second, you may ask? The second is one that is STREAMING through Plex’s streaming service WITH COMMERCIALS. Do you have any idea how I sold my wife on setting up our own streaming box? It was because of the lack of commercials and not having to switch out DVD’s. And now, if she happens to pick the wrong one, she gets commercials before and during Dawson’s Creek. Commercials for which Plex recieves a consideration if my wife watches. Please tell me this isn’t done on purpose. Because it feels like it was, after all the other moneygrubbing moves that have been done to force users away from their own media (ie, search functions snafu).

She can’t work the super frustrating libraries and now she plays some sort of twisted Russian roulette with continuing her shows. She isn’t tech savvy. She doesn’t know the difference between 640p and 4k, aac and TrueHD passthru. But she sure knows what a commercial looks like. And she can’t navigate to the libraries anymore.

Guess who she blames? Not Plex. Me. Please, for the love of God and all that is holy, make things easier. Let the libraries go back. And please remove the DEFAULT OPTION of having two Continue Watching tiles for the SAME EPISODE.

Sounds like you’ve enabled the option to see the Plex provided media. There isn’t a way to not show these in continue watching, except to turn off the feature completely.

I have had all Streaming options disabled since Streaming was introduced.

Are you sure you turned it off for your wife account? This setting is per user account.

I have only one account for my household.

And every one of my users will have this problem, it isn’t a server-side setting? Good god.

The settings on your last screenshot only apply to yourself and your “managed users”.
Not all users within your Plex Home are managed users, though.

Those users who can use a different email address than yours to log themselves into Plex, are regular plex user accounts. These have their own, individual settings. Correct. This is on my account., I have the only account within the home. I have deleted them manually from Continue Watching. I just do not want to see any more of this malarky in the future.

You should be aware that this is not the case.
