[SOLVED] not an issue with PMS. Seemed temporary fetch problem with tv data
Server: 1.13.4.5271
Server OS: Windows 10 Pro
TVTuner: Hauppauge WinTV HVR Hybrid (likely doesn´t matter)
Description of the issue:
Downloading of the air tv programming metadata can fail at the middle of the downloading process.
Setting Windows clock to UTC regardless of timezone (i.e. shifting clock +6 hours on a -6 GMT timezone) gets the download to finish properly. Going to live tv content shows programs from within 6 hours (of course) and works locally.
Remote devices have to set time also in UTC in order to be able to tune programs, but the guide is off by said amount of time.
It looks like Plex Media Server is unaware of server’s timezone as well as client’s timezone. This should be relativiely high priority because the workaround can’t be permanently applied, since it breaks everything else on devices, it doesn’t work perfectly (wrong tv programs shown).
At least a first fix should be to be able to stream a channel, regardless of timezone conflicts (just pick channel, tune and stream it to device). Later on proper guide programming can be fixed, but not being able to tune just because the guide is wrong is a deal breaker, considering that paying for Plex Pass was based on this feauture for some people.
