I live in US and use Plex Live TV and DVR with HDHomeRun Prime tuner. The Plex server runs on a Windows 10 computer which is always on. On a recent trip to Ireland, I was pleased to be able to use Plex/Web on a Windows laptop to view Live TV streamed from my house. However, I was startled to note that the TV Guide was showing times in the Ireland Time zone, which is 5 hours ahead of US East Coast. This does not seem desirable to me – the times should be shown in the time zone corresponding to the location of the HDHomeRun tuner and Plex server.
This time shift was particularly confusing when I tried to make recordings. I knew what time my show (English Premier League soccer) was supposed to run on East Coast time (10 am), but I had to locate it in the guide at 3pm (which to add additional confusion is the time the game is actually played in UK time). I scheduled the recording, but for some reason the show did not record. This may be unrelated to the time zone issue, or maybe not…
