[Bug] LiveTV EPG has no channel names iOS & Android & Web Player

Server Version#: v.1.41.7.9717-fa0101728
Player Version#: 2025.14.0 (10.37)

Using LiveTV with an Xteve proxy tuner and in the new app none of the channel names or icons are displayed which makes impossible to figure out what channel is being displayed in the EPG. I have the old Plex iOS app on my ipad and there is no problem. The Web Player app also is fine.

Please bring back the legacy iOS app to the store so we can run the old app side-by-side with the new version until the new version isn’t so unusable!

Issue exists on Web and Android as well.

@mispey I have updated the tags on this post to include android. Can you please post your client and server versions and maybe a screenshot? I am on web player Version 4.145.1 and my EPG still works with my server verion in my OP.

For sure. Here’s Android

Client is 2025.14.0

I’ll post web and server details separately

At least on web -I can confirm that if I click on a specific airing in the guide, Plex provides the name of the show and the channel name. Therefore, Plex is aware of the channel name. Even if it wasn’t, I believe the channel number was visible.

Hovering over the blank boxes reveals the channel number.

Here is Plex Web, version 4.145.1

Server is 1.41.6.9685, running via Docker

I’m having similar issues where the channel name/logo is missing on web, windows, and android for mobile, with the added bug of no guide data on mobile. all latest updates. Usually…refreshing the guide data will allow the icons to reshow on web, and windows, but that takes ages with 200 channels, and does nothing for the mobile version.

Samsung, and CCwGTV with android for tv or what ever… those the guide work fine.

I’ve downgraded to the old app as the new one was simply unusable for me and I’ve blocked it from updating on my iOS devices.

I see they rolled out 2025.15.0 - has it gotten any better in terms of the LiveTV and the Icons/EPG for anyone?

What’s really frustrating is that we used to see Plex staff engage on these kind of threads and it now seems like, along with the ‘new’ awful app, they are no longer popping up and engaging with the community anymore?

I checked and I have that version, 2025.15.0.

I’ll notice the EPG still just blank/loading occasionally, seems to usually be towards late night, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Seems like I have the opposite problem lol, my icons are fine but the schedule doesn’t load sometimes.

Either way, didn’t do it before the upgrade and I’ve changed nothing on my server.

any improvement the v16.0 app that was released the other day?

I’m experiencing the same issue. All my apps are up to date (stable releases, not beta) on every device. My setup uses a tuner in one location and the Plex server in another, connected via Antennas. In the “Live TV & DVR” settings, all channel logos display correctly (see screenshot), but in the actual TV guide, no logos appear at all (see screenshot). This happens on all devices and browsers.

Refreshing the guide or rescanning channels doesn’t help. Everything else works fine, just the logos are missing from the guide itself. Would appreciate any advice or updates if this is being tracked as a bug.

Screenshots for reference:

Thanks!

any updates on this? I have the same issue with ErSatzTV.

Same issue here, web and lg tv all shows ok. At android the channel logos and title not appeared. Epg appeared only.

I just found a solution, i read to another thread that plex do that because apps are secured and not caching the logos. So i try to disable cache from xteve so plex will forced to download the images from the url i put at xteve which is https. And logos appearing now! :innocent::innocent::innocent:

@al6875 so are you saying that all you had to do to get channel icons to load was disable this option?

If so this an important clue to the issue that the new plex clients are unhappy with Xteve being HTTP for the most part. As far as I’m aware the standard releases of Xteve have no supports for https so this will be an issue for a lot of users. I don’t know if we can convince the Xteve devs to add https support and getting plex to play nice and still accept http feeds from our own internal Xteve / LAN would be nice…probably easier for us to manually fix/adjust that on plex than running around sending up proxies and other servers in Xteve to solve this problem?

How we do we get the eyes of a moderator or Plex developer onto this?

Same story, the new Android app doesn’t show icons for ErsatzTV.

As seen on browser:

New release of ErsatzTV addresses this problem. Will try it tomorrow.
