Missing Live TV Channel Thumbnails on iPhone, iPad and web (but visible on Apple TV)

I’m experiencing a strange issue with Plex Live TV thumbnails.

Problem

On both iPhone and iPad Plex apps, the channel thumbnails (logos/icons) are missing in the Live TV guide and Favorites tab.

However, when I open Plex on Apple TV, all channel logos display normally.

I’ve tried:

  • Refreshing the EPG/guide data

  • Reinstalling Plex on iPhone/iPad

  • Removing and re-adding DVR source

  • Signing out/in again on mobile clients

  • Checking the channel icon URLs (they load fine in a web browser)

  • Confirming that Apple TV uses the same Plex account and server connection

Despite that, iOS clients still fail to show the icons.

Notes

  • All devices are on the same local network.

  • Secure connections are set to “Preferred.”

  • No VPN or reverse proxy in use.

  • Icons are being served via [HTTP/HTTPS — specify which one].

  • Other artwork and metadata load fine — only the Live TV channel icons are missing.

Question

Has anyone else experienced this issue recently (Live TV icons missing only on iOS clients)?

Is this possibly related to how iOS fetches logo URLs (e.g., mixed content or caching issue)?

Any known fixes or configuration adjustments that make the thumbnails show up again?

Thanks in advance for any insights or workarounds.
