[BUG] Multi-part films fail to playback after first part

Plex for Android 7.31.0.16605-beta

I have discovered that on Android TV and Mobile, multi-part files are no longer working. After the first part plays, Plex acts as if there are no subsequent parts.

Playback of these files works on iOS, the WebApp, and Chromecast.

I have tried the Plex Dance on a couple files, to no avail.

Edit: This is also an issue in the current non-beta release: Plex for Android 7.31.0
Edit 2: I know that I could just combine the files, but I don’t want to.

can you give example of your files naming?

there can be no space between the part/etc and the number - part1

see section split across multiple files

if your naming is correct, and definitely not working on only android, could we get specific version info (client and server versions), and server logs (may need client logs later).

  • first make sure debug logs are enabled (not verbose) @ Plex Web > settings > general > enable debug logs on (verbose logs off)
  • reproduce the issue of part1 not continuing to part2
  • download logs > settings > troubleshooting > download logs.
  • drag/drop logs into reply here

Firstly, thanks for the help TeknoJunky.

These files are files I have played back through Plex for Android, web, chromecast, etc. for years without issue.

I have tried all three of these options for naming, with the first being how I always name them.

(1) Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring Ext (2001).part1.mp4
(2) Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring Ext (2001) - part1.mp4
(3) Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring Ext (2001) - pt1.mp4

All of those formats work fine for playing back across every platform I have, excepting Android.

Plex for Android 7.31.0.16605-beta (Mobile and TV)

1.19.2.2673 running on Ubuntu

I am happy to provide logs, but would rather PM them to the appropriate individual.
