+1 for this issue…

I manually downloaded the APK(s), and installed them on my phone(s) and my Nvidia Shield TV Pro (2017), but I have a question: Will Plex update from the store after this?

I mean when for example the next beta is released to the Google Play Store, will plex be updated from the store, even if it is ā€˜side-loaded’?

Sorry no idea

No. Sideloaded apps do not auto update if more recent versions are available in the Google Play store.

Delete the sideloaded version and re-install the store version to receive auto updates.

That’s the issue though, the latest beta’s are not appearing on the store…

Same issue here. Can’t see the latest releases.

Same problem here. I do not side-load and only install from the store, but the last two beta releases do not appear and an update check says nothing new is available since 8.26.0.28833-beta.

This might be resolved - I’m now being offered an update to 8.26.0.29181, which isn’t currently listed in the Beta release notes post

Edit:
@sixones it looks like you normally post the release notes, do you have them for the new beta version?

yes, for me too, I successfully
updated my phone(s) and my Nvidia Shield! but I wonder where the release-notes are?

I just went to the Google store link on my computer, and updated from there, will this mean that I’ll be able to get new updates from Google play in the future? Even though I updated from side-loaded apps on my phones/Android TV?

Apologies for not updating this thread, our builds were stuck in review on the Google Play store which meant the latest versions were not available for beta or stable releases. These have gone through now, release notes will be updated shortly.

How is it going with this???

The latest beta doesn’t appear in Google Play…

It usually takes around 12 hours for releases to appear on Google Play, should be available soon.

@sixones it’s now 12 hours since the announcement, but still no update on the play store…

There is not much Plex can do - once apps (or app updates) are submitted to the play store they’re at the mercy of Google’s/Play store review process. As sixones explained above some previous updates took longer than normal to review so we just have to wait and be patient

… and now it is happening again…

the latest plex beta (v8.28) isn’t available in the play store

Edit: I’ve got it now, thank you Plex!

@sixones are there any release notes for the latest beta that came through to me today; Version 8.28.0.30077 ?
