When tuned into a channel on Live TV, after accessing Recent Channels by navigating down on remote control and selecting a channel, the channel does not come up and screen returns to home screen.
So you can access the channel fine if you go to it in Guide?
Yes, any channel comes up fine when accessed from the guide, or from favorites, or from the home screen, etc. but once tuned into that channel Recent Channels do not work and Plex just returns to home screen.

What is the status of this bug submission? I am still experiencing this bug as described.
Sorry for losing track of this. It does not look like folks were able to reproduce. It is possible to get your Android logs after it happens.

I have 3 Shields that have had this problem for several months. Exactly as OP describes. Live TV non-Plex channels, since Plex channels don’t show the recent channels list while watching.
Shout out to the devs! Clicking a recent channel on the popup control bar seems to be working for about a week now.
It has caused other regressions though. Before, when clicking the back button on the remote (while watching a channel launched from the guide) the channel playing would continue to play at the top-right of the screen. Now one of two things happens: Nothing is displayed at top-right or it displays for a second and crashes you back to the Android home screen.
I do appreciate the fix, but pressing back (or the up arrow when playing content and the control bar isn’t already displayed) and content continuing to play while I browse the guide is the main reason I upgraded all my clients to Nvidia SHIELDs. Please take a look.
