I’ve bought this Chromecast with Google TV some months ago, and even before the Android 12 upgrade, I always had this bug: very often, when resuming, video, subtitles disappear, even though they are selected. Force them on the subtitle menu doesn’t work. The solution is to stop playback, go back, and resume again. And it works always when I do that. It’s still annoying though because it occurs in > 50% of the times. Sometimes it’s also happen right from the start of the playback. For some reason it just doesn’t seem to pick the subtitles, in a random way.
I used to have this bug on the Samsung Tizen Plex App,
And it seems it’s here as well, don’t know if it’s for the same reason or not (I believe that in the Tizen was some issue with transcoding, which doesn’t seem to be the case here, since I noticed here this happening while direct playing as well).
This happens with SRT subtitles (don’t know about other formats). Another thing to note is that I have the “HDMI” passthrough option. Also, this happens without the “force burn subtitles”, since that requires server transcoding.
