Server Version#: 1.32.5.7349
Player Version#:9.29.1.3463
I’ m running Plex Server on Windows and Plex Player on Android TV.
I have a library with Photos (Library Type: Photos)
When I start a slideshow by clicking a photo in a folder it was normally some seconds before the next one.
Now suddnely it’s 30 seconds. When I hit down or OK on the remote I see a 30 seconds timeline. That wasn’t there before.
I dind’t change anything and there is no setting for this.
How can I fix this?
With this random setting Plex is completly usless for photos.
Thanks for any tips or acknowledgment to fix it in the next update.
I’m seeing the same thing, it’s really annoying. The new release introduced a lot of odd behavior with photos. I feel like they take longer to load as well. I also submitted a different bug related to photos.
I’m not really sure what you are asking. admittedly I don’t remember the display length of each photo in a slideshow previously. I’m not clear if you expect them to be longer or shorter.
I expected it to be a couple of seconds like any other slideshow. 30 seconds is way to long and useless if you can’t adjust it.
It was “normal” before so you should know what changed.
What is “normal” for you does not mean it is normal for other. My chromecast slidehow is 1 minute per photo.
In any case I’ve asked if it can be changed to 5 seconds or whatever it was before we had a new photo player. I can’t many any promises about having a setting to choose the timer.
1 minute might be fine for a screensaver slideshow or a slideshow that is not watched activly.
A slideshow you activly watch should be between 3-7 seconds. (And that is the norm across different platforms as the setting for slideshows)
But there is an other bug: If I run through the pictures of a folder it won’t stop at the last one. It doesn’t continue from the start neither. It just picks random pictures in the folder.
Please acknowledge these bugs and change back to the previous version of the photo player.
These behaviours make it not useable for anyone actievly watching a slideshow. If you add these behaviours at least give the options to adjust them.
Thank you.
I agree with @NDOPlex here. 30 seconds is very long for a typical slideshow. We’re just asking you to change it back to whatever it was before.
I also agree that I’m seeing very odd behavior with photos now after the last update. Photos take very long to load, they load as black screen, etc… Please look into the photos behavior and fix these things.
I liked the 30-second timer, 5 seconds is too fast also with the new fix when you pause the slide show and move to the next photo manually it starts automatically and goes back into play mode meaning I have to pause it again. Nice to fix that.
Why is it so hard to add options to allow the user to change the speed?
Can you please fix the automatic un-pausing of the slideshow?
We currently have to press 2 buttons to go to the next image and pause the slideshow each time, whereas before the slideshow would stay paused when we forwarded through the images manually and the slideshow would stay paused until we wanted it to play by pressing play.
This is how it was before you changed to timers and stuff as you said you were going to change the setting back to what it was before.
Just throwing my $.02 into this as well. I used to be able to do a photos slideshow that showed family photos that transitioned every few seconds. Now it seems like it stays on one photo, although I didn’t wait the full 30 seconds to see if that was what happened.
I would also vote for exposing the setting to adjust it ourselves! I would probably do 5 seconds or something like that so we can have a family slideshow when people come over. With the holidays everyone wants to see family pics!
