I just got Alexa Plex skill working, but anything I play that I initiate with Alexa does not show up in the dashboard, if I stop and start it doesn’t hold it’s place,
If I just ask for a TV show it will select the next unplayed episode, but after playing it doesn’t update.
Is this a bug, or have I missed a step in setup?
Are you playing music on an Echo device directly or playing back to a Plex client? If using a Plex client, this should work. If playing directly on an echo device, it won’t. It’s a limitation of echo devices. They don’t provide feedback to PMS.
No, I’m watching an episode from a TV series.
If I just ask to play the show Alexa will tell me what the next unplayed episode is and ask if that’s the one I want (that’s working just fine). Looking on another win10 laptop (web plex app) what I’m watching is not showing on the dashboard (things were showing correctly from other users so the dashboard is otherwise ok), and when the episode is complete it does not update - that is it is still showing the one I just watched as the next unplayed episode.
Server is on a windows 10 NUC, player is a Amazon Fire TV Stick, Alexa is on one of the new Echo See 8 devices.
I just installed the Alexa skill. I’ve paired my server and client. Alexa responds that it is going to play a show on said server and client, but then nothing happens on the client.
ME TOO! What is going on here? I find this maddening and I can’t get an answer. No error…no fail just nothing ever plays? Alexa seems to understand and complies and says “ok” but shows and movies never play? What’s happening here?
