[Bug] Plex Android stopps after 120 min exactly - always

Latest releases of server and clients

During playback of direct play content the player stopps after 120 min exactly - always.

I need to restart playback, fast forward to 2:00:00 to see the rest of the movies.

No solution but have a theory.

Is your media on a NAS and if so is the NAS waking up when you try and play something ?

I’ve seen plex default movie/episode lengths to 2:00:00 if the spinning disks on the NAS have not fully spun up yet.

As a possible workaround you could start the movie, let it play say 5 seconds and then stop and start it again. Maybe then plex will pickup the correct length (assuming of course my theory above holds any truth).

I like the NAS theory. Also, don’t you have a “kill stream” script running by Tautulli?

No, running on a 2x Xeon 2680v2 beast with 128 GB RAM (added server tag in my post). Connection via LAN, no WLAN, direct play.

I’m using disk shares, no user shares, on Unraid server. So no additional wakeup of disks during playback.

It happens exactly at 2:00:00 hours.

No tautulli here.

I mean, it’s exactly at 2:00:00 into playback. It must be something within Plex server or Plex client.

In the past there was a 120 min transcoding value. Don’t remember what it was and I don’t find it any longer. But as far as I remember it did belong to the transcoder. But in my case it’s direct play …

In that case, debug logs should tell us what’s happening
