Noted after PMS update last night that now all media played in multiple web browsers, including on phone crashes during playback and leaves an orphaned session in dashboard. Attempting to try playing video again results in immediate crash and another orphaned session. Orpahned sessions continue to show in dashboard and do not end after crash. After multiple attempts at playback of multiple media files, I now have several orphaned sessions. Plex Media Server Logs_2022-02-09_21-37-47.zip (3.9 MB)
Issue with web player keeps occuring after firmware update and reboot of NAS. Noted it consistently occurs after one episode is done and another begins. Just gives a browser error “something went wrong while displaying this webpage”.

I am experiencing the same issue, but in my Plex music library. The Plex Web player (version 4.74.2 according to my Settings) crashes and not always between tracks–it often konks out in the middle of playing a track.
I am also running the Plex Media server version 1.25.5.5492 on a WD PR4100.
At first I thought it was just a problem with the MS Edge browser, but I just verified that it crashes in Chrome too.
UPDATE: I tried rolling back to PMS 1.25.3.5409, thinking that might stop the crashes in the web player until a fix is found. But I just experienced the a web player crash with this older server install (it’s about a month old). So I wonder if maybe the problem is actually with the web player itself. Did it update recently?

Noticed after updating PMS tonight, to the above version, and testing in Chrome, the issue seems resolved. Further testing with various browsers will still need done, but initially the new update seems to be working much better.
Have you tried clearing the browser cache for chrome and edge, a long shot, but definitely worth trying. After tonights update to this version, i am not seeing the previous “aw snap!” error.
That was a good idea, unfortunately no luck.
I’ve tested 3 machines, two Win10 and one Win11, all using Chrome and Edge.
All exhibit the same problem, the video will not play and leaves an orphaned session in the dashboard. that goes away after a few minutes.

My next suggestion is to stop the PMS service then restart and immediately try playing the video several time from differing browsers. Then got to settings in plex managment and to troubleshooting. Download the log files and create a reply to this thread and upload the log zip file you downloaded in the previous step. This way maybe any plex engineers monitoring this thread can check your logs for whats happening.
Check out this reg fix, I did use it and this may be why I am no longer seeing the issue. I posted some notes on the Chrome reg key missing in the policies folder in the thread. Its a workaround but seems to work for me after applying and rebooting my computer.
