On Android TV, in Plex Photos timeline view, attempting to use the vertical slider to slide quickly from top to bottom causes the Plex app to stall and then abort.
It is possible to get to the bottom by sliding in smaller steps, allowing the screen to update before stepping again. However, this makes the slider cumbersome and impractical to use.
Not intending to harrass you in any way, I understand the dev team are aware of this issue, but I’ll keep ‘touching’ this topic after each beta release to ensure the topic doesn’t close after 3 months.
This issue persists in Android TV versions 7.28.0.15447-beta and 7.28.0.15460-beta
This issue persists in Android TV version 7.30.1.16477-beta.
@marekszulik I’ve noticed a further degradation in more recent beta releases. In addition to the aforementioned slider issue, now if I press and hold the down button on my remote in the main body of the timeline window, images begin to scroll upwards and then the window freezes. Interestingly, unlike the slider issue, the app does not abort. To recover, I press the back button on the remote. I can then start scrolling from the top of the timeline again. I’m unable to resume from the point on the timeline when the window froze.
The only way I have found to avoid or marginalise this issue is to press and release the down button in a stepped approach in the timeline window. Again, as with the slider issue, this makes panning down the timeline cumbersome at best on Android TV.
I’ve PM’ed you a link to a short video demonstrating both timeline scroll and slider issues.
