Plexamp on my iPhone 13 Pro (all latest updates) freezes when I search and then select a search result. For instance, I search “Tristessa” and then click on the song in the results, for a split second I see the slide-over which shows Play, Play Track Radio, Play Next, Add to Queue, etc… but it disappears immediately and all I see is the search results except now the entire interface is frozen. Tapping anywhere in the app has no effect.
However sometimes if I wait about 30-60 seconds then tap in random areas of the screen, the slide-over reappears, I can select Play, and the app continues to work normally. Other times the app stays in this frozen state. I have force quit the app and it makes no difference. This bug is repeatable 100% of the time. It does not matter if I’m listening to Airpods, streaming to an Airplay endpoint, or using CarPlay.
Also is this the only way to submit bugs? How often do Plex developers monitor these forums? I could not find any other way to contact them with a bug report.
IIRC this was reported once before and I think it was related to a specific accessibility setting (?) I will search around and see, but do you have anything enabled around animations or motion?
You’re right, it seems like Prefer Cross-Fade Transitions (under Reduce Motion) is the problem. If I turn off that sub-option, then Plexamp works fine. I hope you guys can fix this in the next update, but for now this is a mostly acceptable solution. Thanks!
