Is issue #10241 the one you filed for the problem discussed in this thread? (Iād test it myself, but I donāt have a Plex Pass so I canāt test beta versions.)

Well, now automatic subtitle selection isnāt working anymore (v 1.16.4.1469)

@OttoKerner Seems like PMS 1.16.4.1469 is now public, although no post has been added to the announcement topic. Anyway, Iāve tested the automatic subtitle selection and can report that the bug has been fixed. Thanks!
I think there is still an issue with automatic selection of forced subtitles, but Iāll create a new topic for that.

@demcookies Do you mean they broke it again in 1.16.5? Because in 1.16.4.1469 itās working correctly.
Yes, I never had this problem before but when I updated from 1.16.4.1469 to 1.16.5.1554 the automatic subtitle selection stopped working
@demcookies If you never had the problem before (so also not before 1.16.4.1469) you might have a different problem.
Could you please exactly describe your preferred language settings, which tracks the problematic files have and which tracks Plex selects?
@cremor my audio & subtitke settings:
Preferred audio
- Japanese
Preferred subtitle
- English
Auto-select subtitle
- Always enabled
Hearing impaired subtitle
- Prefer non-hearing-impaired
Forced subtitle
- Prefer non-forced
Plex selects the first embedded subtitle track, even if itās not in English and there is English track available
You have a different problem. The specific bug discussed in this thread was about the subtitle setting āShown with Foreign Audioā.
