Bug: Removing a recent search also populates the search field

Server Version#: 1.32.8.7639
Player Version#: Web: 4.124.1 (via app.plex.tv using Firefox 122.0.1)
Windows Desktop: 1.86.1.4076-a3ab948d

Tested on both web and Windows desktop.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Search for anything in the search box and click a result
  2. Clear that search, then click on the search field to bring up the “Recent Searches” list
  3. Click on the ‘X’ next to the previous search query to remove it

Expected result:
Removing a previous search query from the recent searches should not populate or change the text in search field.

Actual result:
Removing a previous query from the recent searches will populate the search field of the query of the recent search that was removed.

Video
As you can see, when I click the ‘X’ to remove my “the good the bad and the ugly” search, the search field will be populated with “the good the bad and the ugly”. It will be removed from the recent searches as expected, but it should not the populating the search field like it is.

This only started happening within the last couple of months, it was previously working.

I’ve been seeing this for the last several version of the web/desktop app as well. I finally got annoyed enough by it that I went to make a post and saw this thread. It doesn’t happen on my locally hosted web app (4.118.0), which doesn’t have the new search results page, so I’m assuming this started happening when that was introduced.
