Hi everybody, first post here !
First of all, I think Plex is great software, and really fills a gap in cloud media management !
That said, it took me a while to understand why my external subtitles (srt files) were not detected although I had them properly named.
I scurried through all the relevant topics, set-up local media agent as the first before plex movie or tvdb, still no luck.
After a lot of testing, I go to the end of it
If the library directory contains just ONE file with non ascii character (é, è, à, â, ü etc.), then the agent crashes and no subtitle file can be properly detected after the faulty file.
i.e.
if I have
Film A.avi
Film A.srt
Film Bé.avi
Film Bé.srt
Film C.avi
Film C.srt
The agent will detect Film A.srt but neither Film B.srt nor Film C.srt and any film after that.
I got rid of the problem by renaming all the files, but if ever I forget this in the future then the problem will arise again.
I think it should be possible to override this problem in the code
What do you think Plex team ? Could you fix this bug please ? Also maybe add an option to manually add a subtitle after initial detection.
I’m French, and I have to say it is hard to find a European film without a non ascii character in the title
Please help us !!
Best,
Romain
