I’ve got 2 remote users of my server who regularly watch on the Xbox One app. Up until the update, all was working fine. Since their app updated, they are unable to play back items, with a message of “Not enough bandwidth for direct play of this item”. No option to transcode.
Now, I have my server setup to only allow 8mbps per stream for remote users. This has worked fine for a long time. I have it this way so that my Blu Ray rips don’t consume my entire upload bandwidth.
It looks like the app is forcing remote users to direct play, and not switching over to transcode automatically like it always used to. Switching off the bandwidth limit allows the user to direct play just fine, but I have these limits in place for a reason so this is not ideal.
Plex team, please fix!
