I have about 25 Smart Collections sorted randomly visible on Library, Home and Friend’s Home for a Netflix-like interface. Works great in most apps, but some will have the smart collection row show the same movie multiple times (not multiple editions or duplicates). It mostly happens on the Library’s Recommended page but also on the Home page on some clients.
On each client, it seems that if the Home page or Recommended page limits rows to 25 titles, the bug doesn’t occur, but if it has no such limit and just goes on and on, the bug occurs. Some have a limit on the Home page but no limit on the Recommended page and the bug will only occur on the Recommended page.
When this happens, it will also NOT show some movies. E.g. if a smart collection has 73 titles, the smart collection’s row will show exactly 73 titles on its row, but some of those 73 titles will be repeated, therefore some are simply not shown at all.
I’d like to know if this bug is being worked on and alternatively, if other users here are using randomly sorted smart collections on Library and Home, what is your experience like on your streaming client?
