I’ve tried a bunch of different search terms, but nothing returns a result on mobile. As an example, searching for NFL in the “Live TV & DVR” source turns up 0 results even though there are games on Sunday. It’s a similar issue in the web app, although there’s a quirky workaround to get it to return results. If you delete the search term and resubmit it will return results for the Live TV & DVR source. The workaround doesn’t work on mobile though.

I only have an Amazon Fire HD 7 tablet with which to test, but my search results include items from Live TV & DVR. Do you have Live TV & DVR pinned in your side bar? By default the Plex app only searches pinned sources. This can be changed when you search by clicking the drop-down arrow at the right of the search text entry box.
Yes, it’s pinned, but it still doesn’t find results. Do you get results in Live TV & DVR when searching in the web app?
Yes, but, at least initially, I have to select “Search all sources…” However, after doing so, subsequent searches for other shows don’t require it. Searching live TV via the web client has always been weird.

Thanks, it seems this is a bug then. Not sure why they still haven’t fixed it. And it doesn’t work at all on mobile which is really disappointing.
I was just about to post for the exact same issue. Did all the same troubleshooting and came to the same conclusion.
Same here. On web the search works fine for Live TV & DVR results. On mobile (Android here) no results are returned. I’ve tried selecting all of the different sources in the drop down list (pinned, shows, live tv/dvr, etc) and no results for Live TV & DVR (guide data results) ever show up. I even tried case sensitivity searches and for multiple shows, some of which are on TV right now and some of which are in the future.

Reporting the same.
It does appear that this is broken in the newest version.
There users are reporting reverting back to a previous version of the Android mobile app fixes the issue.
Search on web is working again! Too bad it’s not working on mobile yet. 
Well that was short lived. Now it doesn’t work on web either.
@elan Could you find out internally if this is being looked at? Search for tv shows doesn’t work at all on mobile. And on web it doesn’t show up on the initial check, you have to delete the search term and start over or click to Search All Sources.
