Bug: Smart Collections not respecting sorting based on ADMIN watch date

I had added a Smart Collection called “Jeremy’s Been Enjoying” to my users’ home screen that displayed movies (a second one for series too) I’d rated 4+ stars, showing what I’ve seen most recently.

I only recently learned that it had always been broken, and was sorting my rated movies by the USER’S date viewed, so it only showed stuff they’d recently watched.

I had set the Smart Collection filtering to be based on the Admin account, which gives rating, play count, and watched status as examples and I assumed watched date would be included. It seems like it isn’t.

Can this be added to that option so that it works?

This is not a feature request, but a bug report.

I have tried to recreate the issue, but it works exactly as intended.

Collection filter definition, created under the server owner’s account:

Setting to use the server owner’s “watched” status:

Collection is “published” to be visible on shared user’s home page

Result on the Home page of one of my managed users:

(this user has to have access permission to the library wherein the collection has been created, of course.)

And no, this managed user has not watched these movies, yet:

Please see this screen recording of the issue [had to host on Imgur]. Note that I navigate to Account just to show I’m the admin

Do you have something in this input field in your Network server configuration?
“List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”

If you do, use a Plex client which is not inside your home network to test the access permissions of external users.

I’ve confirmed in a previous test using the same set up from external users that it was experiencing the same issue

I just posted this as a bug, not realizing you may have moved it.

Either way, here’s better screen captures of non-network users not seeing it properly displayed

Screen capture: admin account creates the smart collection [YouTube]

Screen capture: user account not on shared network sees different collection order [YouTube]

Additional evidence: screenshot of what another external user sees
