BUG - Something wrong with codecs on Plex player and Plex HTPC for Windows (4k hevc)

Okay, after examination of your log. I found this:

  Seekable: true
  Partially seekable: false
  Paused for cache: false
  Buffering state: 100
  Frame drop count: 96
  Time: 200.49 / 3109.66 (6.45%)

You are dropping a lot of frames… There is something very wrong. However, there are some things you should try.

  1. change the power mode of your gpu to “maximum” =>

  2. create/modify the mpv.conf file and add
    vo=gpu-next

… and try again.

  1. Use a never mpv.dll =>
  1. Change Video playback quality from normal to low in the Plex HTPC settings. Low does not mean bad - it is more of untouched MPV quality (which is already very good)
