BUG: Video Thumbnails Fail to Load when seeking in shuffled video playlist on Android

Thanks for the kind words. Every so often I look to see if there is another place to report bugs but it sends me back here. Kills me that this is clearly something wrong with how playlists load up thumbnails since “ending” the video and loading the next one properly loads seek thumbnails. Probably a straightforward fix.

Confirming the issue STILL EXISTS on:
Server (Windows x64): 1.41.0.8994
Android: 10.22.1.1607

The first video fails to load seek thumbnails. Subsequent videos load prior video seek thumbnails as you progress using the move to next video or prior video. If you seek to the end of the video, let it end, then let auto-play (or manually) start the next video then seek thumbnails load correctly for the next video. Issue returns when using the next/prior buttons.

This version occasionally loads thumbnails for the first video played in this manner. The prior-video seek thumbnail issue continues if you move forward/back in the queue with buttons. Allowing the video to auto-play-next loads the correct seek thumbnails on the following video.

@sixones Do you think you could look into this? I’m having similar issues mentioned here. It seems there have been problems with thumbnails on android-tv clients going on for years.

HOLY SH*T IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED. It appears that the new Android player experience has a new method for loading previews during playback.

However, it also appears that the ability to play a collection randomly has been removed as well, so there is no way to know if the underlying issue has been fixed. I will voice that complaint elsewhere.
