Managed users with account restrictions (i.e. older kid) have subtitles default selected when browsing movies and tv shows. Changing the settings to prevent this as suggested per the documentation and in many places does not change this behavior. It’s very annoying having to change the subtitle selection to none for any movie or tv show she wants to watch.
I created a test managed user, set the profile to no restrictions, and the subtitle default selection behavior worked as expected (none was the default). I changed the profile to “Older Kid” and all the movies and tv shows went back to default selecting English subtitles. I changed it back to no restrictions, and viola, the default subtitle choice went back to none.
This appears to be a bug with managed accounts that have some sort of restriction on them.
The admin and managed accounts with no restrictions behave as expected but kid profiles do not.
