Building my first server and need help

Was just wanting a little help I have never built a server and have a hard time finding the right motherboard. this is what I found if someone could recomend a better one please do. From my understanding it better to stick with intel chip because PLEX supports Intel Quick Sync. And I want it to handle multiple stream from family

here are the things I want to use so far

  1. ASUS Prime Z390-A LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z390 SATA 6Gb/s ATX Intel Motherboard

  2. Intel Celeron G4900 Coffee Lake Dual-Core 3.1 GHz LGA 1151 (300 Series) 54W BX80684G4900 Desktop Processor Intel UHD Graphics 610

  3. Rosewill 4U Server Chassis/Server Case/Rackmount Case, Metal Rack Mount Computer Case with 12 Hot Swap Bays & 5 Fans Pre-Installed (RSV-L4412)

Server Version#:Latiest UNRaid
Player Version#:

I think you’re overthinking it, it’s an ATX Motherboard, as long as the Chassis/Case you have supports ATX Layout, and your motherboard supports your chosen processor, and gives you the specs you want out of the board, you should be fine. So since the answer to both those questions is “yes” you’re good to go. That chip, however, is not listed on the QSV list from Intel, even though it says UHD Graphics 610, it may not support QSV, just double check before you buy. I’d almost recommend using an NVIDIA Graphics card over your chosen QSV route, you can get more out of a GPU than you can a CPU imo. But UNRaid doesn’t support GPU Transcoding yet I don’t believe, I could be wrong though, as I am not intimately familiar with UNRaid.

This is the list I am talking about: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/search/featurefilter.html?productType=873&0_QuickSyncVideo=True
