Using the web client, it would be nice to be able to filter a library and then perform a metadata refresh on it.
My specific need is that I have 2500 movies, and 500 of them are missing ratings. Rather than refresh the metadata for all of them, it would be nice to be able to filter (instead of just sort) the ones with no ratings, and then perform a metadata refresh on the result.
Or perhaps filter by the year (2012, 2011) and perform a metadata refresh since sometimes it takes a few months for the ratings for a movie to settle, or new posters might have been released.
Doing it one-by-one is very tedious.
Another potential improvement is adding a column to the database that lets us keep track of the last metadata refresh for that item, and then allowing us to sort or filter for things that haven’t had a metadata refresh for a while.
We’re just in the process of adding the ability to select multiple items and perform actions on them
