Hi,
I organized my movies (on my hard disk) this way: Name (Year), for example: Jaws (1975). This is how they appear when I open their directories on Windows. I want the filename of each one to appear as the movie title in Plex.
Since Plex at first showed movie titles without the year, I tried to refresh all metadata (local assets are active) and nothing happened.
But when I tried to refresh one of them individually, it worked: its title was changed properly. So I have to do this operation one by one… (I can’t select them all at once and try in that way, because they are stored in different subfolders), but the question is:
why refreshing metadata of the whole library does not work for those movies, but it does if I refresh each of them individually? What’s the difference? Why a total refresh is less effective and less accurate than the action on a single item?
This “issue” is similar to an unresolved one that I had last year with external subtitles.
The library is configured as “Other Videos”, the agent I use is “Personal Media” and the scanner is “Plex Video Files Scanner”.
(This is because of the way my collection is set up… movies and series mixed in various subdirectories of the same main directory of the hard disk, so I need to let them organized that way: same scanner and same agent for everything).
Thanks!
