If I look at Plex from web or from iPhone its fine but from my Rasplex it misses art for new shows etc…
Is there some setting for cache I have switched off (dont think I changed any defaults)?

Yes, “Control Precaching” next to System Settings and Shut Down
It’s also possible there some corruption on the SD Card. That can prevent new artwork from showing up properly.
