Camera Upload - Android

Hi, a question with respect to how Camera upload works on an Android device.

Do I need to login to an account, be it the admin or managed user, to be able to perform the sync (auto or manual). Or should the camera upload occur in the background without having to open the Plex App and login as a specific user.

from my experience the app of course needs to be installed and configured to upload pictures, and then you either configure it to upload manually or whenever a picture is taken… and works accordingly in the background.
