Camera Upload - Can you change the directory of the album?

I am trying to determine how to change the location of the album created through the Plex Camera Upload feature. Here is my setup and issue:

  1. My Plex Library includes a library for pictures. This library includes two folders:

Location 1 = C:/Desktop/Folder 1
Location 2 = c:/My Documents/Pictures/Folder 2.

  1. I set up Camera Upload on device 1 (android), added to the existing Pictures Library and created a new album (device 1) to store the uploaded pictures. Plex uploads the files successfully, but stores the album in Location 2.

  2. I set up Camera Upload on device 2 (iOS), added to the Pictures Library and created a new album (device 2) to store the uploaded pictures. Plex uploads the files successfully but stores the pictures in Location 1.

I have found no way to change or update the location that each album is stored. I have attempted to create a new folder in Location 1, titled “Device 1 Camera Upload test”. On Device 1, i redid the set up so that i could select a new album. On Device 1, i am able to see and select the new folder that was created only in Location 1. I have selected it and had Plex start the upload process again. The files successfully upload, but instead of staying in Location 1, another identically named folder is created in Location 2. It is as if Device 1 has been locked in to Location 2 and Device 2 has been locked in to Location 1.

I have also tested by adding a third Location: C:/Pictures and created folders/albums in this location in an effort to upload the files there. Neither device is able to see these folders (this location was added to the library and the pictures in the folder are visible through Plex).

So, my question is - is there any type of setting or change that we can make to control the location the uploaded pictures and videos are stored within?

I’m still learning the ins-and-outs so take my comments with a grain of salt. I had a similar experience and ended up making an “Uploads” file directory at the same level as Movies, Photos, TV Shows, etc. as follows:

Movies
TV Shows
Photos
2015
Christmas Photos
Home Videos
Music
Uploads
iPad Pictures
Cell Phone Pictures

One very important thing to note is that a Windows (or Mac) FILE DIRECTORY is NOT the same as a Plex LIBRARY. If you’ll notice in the Settings section of the “Camera Upload,” it asks you which LIBRARY to upload the photos to, not which File Directory.

In my case, within PLEX, I created a LIBRARY called “Uploads” and included the FILE Directory (and subdirectories) called Uploads. I then unchecked the “Include in Dashboard” option in the Advanced tab so that none of the uploaded pictures would appear in the “Recently Added” section of Plex.

I then went about sorting my pictures by copying them from the Uploads directory (which I consider a “holding pen”) and then putting them in a sorted directory by date (ie: all my 2015 Christmas photos get copied into Photos > 2015 > Christmas Photos).

I learned the hard way not to Delete the photos in the Uploads directory because if you do, Plex will simply upload the pictures you deleted from your device all over again.

This is what I’ve got so far. I’d be interested in hearing how others have organized their photos.

I am finding this a problem too, I would like the photos I upload to go directly to a stand-alone drive but have had no luck.
please, could this be an update or could somebody at plex provide a method for me and others to achieve our photos to be placed in a specified directory of choice, please?
