I recently started taking advantage of a great feature, the camera upload. I want all my pics to automatically be uploaded to my computer so I have a backup. This works fine besides on BIG issue. It doesn’t know if a picture already exists and then it will duplicate it by creating a second file with -1 at the end of it. Is there any way to stop this from happening? I’m on the newest version of Plex Media Server (I believe its version 1.2.3 off the top of my head)
Any advice would be great. Thanks guys!
I don’t think you can yet but possibly there may be an update that fixes that. Even the Plex pass version does not have that yet. For now just sync up the photos you own and delete the duplicates. Yes I know this is a pain but we just may have to deal with it.
Bummer, thats the one kink in an otherwise awesome product.

There was a fix in 1.2.3 that addressed a possible cause for this issue but if you’re still having this issue then it’s happening for another reason.
What would help is if I could get your Logs and Database if you wouldn’t mind sharing this via a private message with me. Before doing this just restart the server then start a camera upload (that reproduces this duplicate issue) then you can grab the log and database zips from Settings → Server → Help from the web interface.
Mine did (does) the same thing. I turned sync off, then back on and it started doing this. I then turned it off and left it. Not sure if that is what you did, but I figured I’d “manually” sync from time to time (instead of automatic).
