Anytime I connect my phone to a charger it tries to upload all my photos again. It has now been successful in creating 11 copies of the exact same photos.
This has been going on for quite some time! I’m running Plex on Ubuntu with all media being stored to a NAS. It essentially makes the feature unusable and seems a lot like a bug!
Bump. I have the same problem. The 504 photos on my phone now have all be uploaded 4 times. Shouldn’t plex be good at things like this – checking the metadata to see if something exists then skipping the photos it already has?
Is there a fix for this planned or should I just turn it off and forget about it?
Ditto, similar. Not that many copies with EVERY image. It really likes some images, one vid in particular it made over 30 copies of for some reason. Tried to clean up the library, both from the OS (OSX 10.11.6) and from the Plex end, with no success. Weird results, like re-uploading ALL my iOS photo library after cleanup from on the Plex end (feature request: SELECT ALL).
Happens similarly with my wife’s phone (same phone, same server).
Love the features (now with Video upload!!) / Hate the bugs (inconsistent!!)
Man. Still happening. I’ve had to add Google Photos to both our phones, as mine works fine, but my wife’s does not. Keeps starting over from scratch, lots of dupes, but with different names as Plex app updates. Totally unusable, really just want a place to backup full-res copies of pictures from phones.
Same phone (iPhone 6S), same server (different folder)…
