My media library is stored on a QNAP TVS-471 with upgraded CPU & RAM. There are 2 separate Plex Pass accounts in my family and I’m wondering if they can share the content that is stored on my QNAP (instead of running/maintaining 2 separate servers). I don’t believe it would bother me if I could only manage the Plex Server for one account through the QNAP app & the other through the web interface,
It would be super if the community could confirm whether it’s possible for 2 Plex Pass accounts to share one database. And if so, any significant reason not too (aside from personal preference).
A server can only be signed in to 1 Plex account.
And this Plex account can make administrative settings and add/edit media.
All other accounts can only be sharees, which are only allowed to consume the media.
If there is a high amount of trust and discipline among the two account holders, you could invite the second account into your Plex Home.
If you tell him the PIN of the admin account, he could quickly switch user accounts whenever necessary. But he must not forget to switch back before any playback activity, or the played/unplayed status will become messed up. https://support.plex.tv/articles/categories/features/plex-home/
