Second server on same premium account?

Just setup my home server with a new QNAP Nas, already loving it! I’m trying to figure out if I could have a second server on the same account for a film-based non-profit I run? The content would be different than my home one, and would want to setup remote and external sharing for it, also why I want it to be separate than my home one. Thank you.

You can BUT…

The second server has to be hosted on another device (you can still use the same NAS to host files)

If both servers have remote access enabled you have to use a different external port

example

server 1 internal port 32400 external port 32400

server 2 internal port 32400 external port 32401

I was going to do this myself but I was always a little hesitant that the two servers using the same account could cause a problem

I assume you just give the 2nd server a different name but I can’t see to find any actual documentation on the exact steps to do this or things to avoid

Hopefully someone comes along who has already done this

You can share your sever externally with people and only share certain libraries, so keep that in mind as an option

If you want to use the same Plex account to run both servers, there is no good reason to separate them. Except to have a server for your private use, that doesn’t get bogged down with external requests.
However, they still will both share the upstream bandwidth of your internet connection.

Do also keep in mind that the number of people you can share with (99) is counted per-account, not per-server.

External users would all have to create a Plex account for themselves to access your server. You cannot open up the second server to the public in general.
