Can anyone help! Plex is installed on the substation on the LAN connected Xbox and Sony player.

Hi there. The Plex Xbox One app has no concept of 2D/3D movies, it will just output whatever video it’s sent. It’s upto your TV to detect and switch to ‘3D mode’ or you can switch it manually.
As for the Sony player, make sure your server is signed in and connected to plex.tv.
There have been a few cases reported where internal file markers either in the container or the video stream are getting read by the Xbox One and then the Xbox itself is only displaying the 2D version of the movie.
If that is the case you can try forcing a transcode (if it’s in the video stream) or forcing direct stream (if it’s in the container) by adjusting the settings in the app itself.
Disabling Direct Play by itself will force Direct Stream.
Disabling Direct Play and Direct Stream will force a transcode.
