Can iTunes plugin be customised

I know that the iTunes channel is "built in".  This is a shame, as it does some pretty dumb things (like browse by Artist instead of Album Artist).

 

I'd like to customise it myself, but can't as it must be compiled as part of the .exe.  Is it possible to get the python code and implement these changes myself?

No, for legacy reasons the iTunes plugin is written in C++ and part of the closed source part of PMS. That plugin is due for a rewrite at any rate, I will forward this info to that developer.

Thanks for the swift reply.  I should really rephrase "dumb" to "ways that do not fit my preferred use case" :)
