For shows that have a long break in the same season (which rolled off the continue watching hub), I used to be able to go back to the previous episode and just mark it as unwatched, then mark as watched again. This doesn’t seem to work anymore. It is like it remembers the first time the episode was ever watched.
Is this a new bug in the 40 series?
Marking something as “watched” no longer creates a “played” entry for it, something actually has to be watched within the Video played threshold for it to register as actually played. This change came in server version 1.40.0.7998 → Plex Media Server - #612 by drzoidberg33 .
As a workaround you could play the previous episode and fast forward it all the way to the end. Plex will see this as played. Or you could just watch the new episode which will place it back on the continue watching hub again.
Thanks. That is unfortunate. It was a handy way to get things back into the continue watching list or sometimes even just to re-sort the continue watching list to kick something back to the front of the line.
It will be a lot more tedious to have to replay multiple videos to rearrange the ordering.
