Hi, sorry to hear you’re experiencing problems with the app.
In order to investigate the issue, any chance you could confirm in which platform you’re seeing the problem? If the issue is on TV, when you navigate to a playlist preplay screen, the individual items can be removed performing a “long click” on those items. That should display a dialog in which you should see the “Delete” option. It should remove the item, though it’s true the playlist list is not updated correctly (we are working on fixing that). If the problem persists, you can share app logs following https://support.plex.tv/articles/201573117-android-android-tv-fire-tv-logs/
I was about to send a picture myself. When viewing thru my Sony or Pioneer smart TV’s the Plex app is the latest version and all show just the same as the user posted image above. I do have a Roku and that one received an interface change in a recent upgrade that is very much different, but at lease that one still has the option to remove the item from a playlist.
Don’t forget…the option to delete the playlist is gone too. Both should be restored.
I am experiencing the same issue on an Insignia Fire TV edition. Long pressing on an item does not give the option to remove from playlist. The only delete option is to completely remove the item from the server. Also can we get the episode titles to show up in the playlists? I don’t remember what episode number I left off at but am more likely to remember the actual title.
Yes, it can be adjusted via the web client, but the android TV and other variants have lost their ability to modify the playlists. It is that functionality that we need brought back.
I would also like to know if this will be fixed. What’s funny is that the ability to remove items from playlists has been gone from the Samsung TV app for a long time. It’s like they decided that this crappy feature should be shared with all the other platforms so we can enjoy it’s crapfulness too.
I can only assume that these changes are permanent. I find it unbelievable that something like this could make it all the way out of the development stage into beta than production without a Plex employee noticing that basic functionality has been removed. This is basically the “new Coke” of interfaces but at least Coca Cola was smart enough to realize they made a mistake.
